What Are Box Braids?
Box braids get their name from the square-shaped (box) sections used to part the hair before braiding. This iconic style originated in Africa over 3,000 years ago and has remained popular throughout history for its beauty, practicality, and cultural significance.
Traditional box braids involve attaching synthetic or human hair extensions to your natural hair using a three-strand braiding technique. The extension is folded over a small section of your natural hair at the root, then braided down to the ends.
